The Salty Approach airstrip (FL90) is operated by Salty Approach LLC (SALLC), a partnership comprising 90 members. Of the 90 memberships, 46 are specifically designated as “use-rights” memberships, that is, use-rights members have full access to the airstrip. Memberships are “owned” by members. If a person (or business entity) would like to purchase a membership, the membership purchase must be negotiated with a member who is willing to sell. Membership sales amounts have varied greatly over the years with a high of $70K and a low of $12K. Typical negotiated price is $20K to $30K, depending on the seller and buyers motivations.

SALLC is not involved in membership sale negotiations, however, SALLC does oversee the official membership transfer. Once a membership seller and buyer have generally agreed on the membership transfer, SALLC will provide the membership transfer forms, along with instructions, for completing the membership transfer. All membership transfers are reviewed and must be approved by the current SALLC managers. SALLC collects a $1,500 transfer fee, paid by either the seller or buyer (or split), that must be received by the LLC’s accountant before the membership transfer is recorded in the LLC’s records.
** Property on North Captiva is transactioned entirely separately from the airstrip. Purchase and sale of property, including houses or lots along the airstrip, are through direct interaction with the property owner or their representative – check real estate listings. **
